Reverse Engineering Process
See the 3D Samples page to download scan files and parasolid files.
The reverse engineering process starts with a part, in this case a CMM training standard.

The part is first scanned to acquire enough point or mesh data to accurately describe the part. Single scan using Creaform EXAscanner

Next, the scan data and RAPIDFORM XOR software are used to extract the design intent and to build a parasolid (parameter driven) CAD model.

See the 3D Samples page for 3D viewer requirements.
During the process, the deviation between the parasolid and original data is carefully monitored.

Once the model is acceptable, it's exported to Solid Edge Synchronous Technology CAD software. Because the model is a parasolid, it can easily be modified as shown in this BEFORE and AFTER comparison.
